Single-station process. One shop only tonight.
Hsinchu has three Vietnamese hair-wash stations on file, and on the North District massage list the one at Beida Rd 202-2, 金星越式洗髮 新竹旗艦店, 4.9 stars and over 2,690 reviews, carries more than four times the volume of the other two combined. People who search this shop name are not after a comparison; they want the process, the timing and the go or no-go settled before the door. This piece runs it as a process.
Warn-off first
This station works the head and shoulders.
Anyone wanting feet, full-body acupressure, or a sore back pressed open should not queue here. On the same Beida Rd, No. 191, 莉鑽養生館, 4.4 stars, 140-plus reviews, does full body; Sec. 2 of Jingguo Rd 139, 群豐養生會館-新竹旗艦店, 4.9 stars, over 3,600 reviews, is the most-reviewed wellness house in North District; Sec. 2 of Jingguo Rd 216, 莎哇哩卡泰式推拿養生館, 1,100-plus reviews, does Thai. All three are in North District, under five minutes by taxi.
Who stays: people with eye strain from a day of screens, scalps too tight to sleep, anyone who wants to lie down and be washed without undressing, anyone bringing their mother.
The process: door to door
The Vietnamese hair-wash convention, details vary by shop, posted rules apply:
- Report the package and duration at the counter; a session runs sixty to ninety minutes, add-ons extra.
- Lie flat. Two or three rounds of shampoo with scalp pressure between them, the longest step.
- Face wash and mask; the area around the eyes is worked, so remove contact lenses first.
- Shoulders, neck and arms, done sitting up; pressure can be requested.
- Blow-dry. You walk out finished, no re-wash at home.
Going rate NT$600 to 1,200 a session; Jinxing’s actual prices may change monthly, and this site does not print unverified numbers, so posted prices rule.
One note: this is a wet process. If you do not want wet hair today, or have a formal evening that needs the hairstyle kept, come another day.
Timing: the yield gap is in the afternoon
With 2,600-plus reviews, weekend full-load is a given.
Weekdays Monday to Thursday from two to five are loosest; a same-morning call to 03 526 1666 usually gets in. Weekday evenings after seven are the after-work rush, allow half an hour. Saturday and Sunday afternoons are full-load, book the day before; walking up to the door most likely means sitting outside.
For science park people, plainly: two hours off on a weekday afternoon beats an hour in a weekend queue.
This stretch of Beida Rd
Out of TRA Hsinchu Station, walk Beida Rd about ten minutes. Drivers find Beida Rd street spaces tight from five to seven; park at the paid lots around the City God Temple and walk five minutes.
Two more points on the same stretch. No. 169, 佐登妮絲專業SPA_新竹光華店, 4.9 stars, 66 reviews, beauty-course type; No. 191, Lizuan, covered above. Hungry after the wash, the City God Temple is at Zhongshan Rd 75 within ten minutes on foot, most temple-front stalls run to nine or ten at night and later on weekends; how to eat there is in City God Temple night market, the local way.
Backup stations
Jinxing full, two directions.
Minsheng Rd 248 in East District, 富國島越式養生會館, 4.7 stars, 410-plus reviews, under ten minutes by taxi from Beida Rd. Ren’ai Rd 136 in Hukou, Win Spa 越式洗髮, 4.9 stars, 180-plus reviews, so Hukou and Xinfeng residents need not come into the city; the Xinfeng massage picks dispatched that one.
For how the whole city splits by type and price band, how to pick a massage or SPA in Hsinchu laid out three checkpoints.
Leaving the station
Hair wash involves no alcohol; driving home is fine. If you drank on Dongmen St before coming, leave the car and call a designated driver, and fetch it after your hair is dry.
