Night timetable, posted on the wall at Zhixue Station.
This station issues two tickets. There is no third.
Shoufeng Township lists two places to drink: KTV zero, massage and spa zero, night market zero. The Hualien nightlife overview lays out the whole county, and Shoufeng is among the thinnest townships in it — but it’s thin for a reason.
Ticket One: No. 79 Zhongzheng Rd., Zhixue Village
Pang Duo Mo 胖哆摩義式廚房(花蓮總店)/Pang Duo Music Pub胖哆音樂酒吧 — 4 stars, 50-plus reviews, 03 866 3456.
Registered as a Pub. One address, two identities: an Italian kitchen by day, a music pub after dark.
TRA Zhixue Station puts Zhixue Street within a short walk, so this ticket needs no transfer.
It does carry a seasonal restriction. Zhixue Street’s energy hangs on the academic calendar: in term time the braised-snack, popcorn-chicken and bubble-tea shops run to ten or eleven; over summer and winter break crowds halve, some shops close, and the whole street dims early.
Check the calendar before you set out. That’s more useful than checking opening hours — Zhixue Street runs on the semester separates the two versions.
Late-night food runs NT$150–250 a head, the cheapest stretch of night in Hualien. Student prices built it, and the Zhixue Street budget night breaks it down stall by stall.
Ticket Two: No. 18 Shanling, Yanliao Village
皮爾沙酒吧 — 4.5 stars, 80-plus reviews, 03 812 3999.
This ticket can’t be walked from Zhixue Station. Yanliao sits on Provincial Highway 11C along the coast, a different catchment from Zhixue Street — fifteen to twenty minutes apart by car.
No convenient night transit connects the two. An evening visit means driving, or booking a ride before you leave.
Eighty-odd reviews isn’t a large sample. But in Shoufeng, it’s the only ticket pointing seaward.
Services Suspended
KTV: zero. Massage and spa: zero. Night market: zero. Bar strip: none.
Not incomplete data. Shoufeng is a campus and resort township, and the population density can’t carry karaoke rooms or wellness houses — we won’t pad the timetable with services that don’t run.
To sing, to get a massage, to do three venues in one night: take the service in the next section.
Transfer: Twenty to Thirty Minutes to Hualien City
Local trains from Zhixue or Shoufeng stations reach Hualien City in about twenty minutes; by car on Highway 9 or 11C it’s twenty to thirty minutes each way.
Hualien Bus valley routes run along Highway 9, infrequently, and more so at night.
On the city end, bars, KTV and late-night food come together in one trip. Hualien night transport covers last departures and the reality of calling a ride; if you’re catching the last train, check the schedule before you order that final drink.
Stops That Don’t Sell Tickets, and Are Still Worth It
National Dong Hwa University is at No. 1, Sec. 2, Daxue Rd. A stargazing walk across campus is fine — but keep it low-key. It’s a school, not an attraction.
Liyu Lake is quiet at night. Firefly season lands around April and May, the busy exception; every other month it’s just dark and the sound of water.
Promised Land Resort is at No. 1 Lixiang Rd., with night views reserved for guests. Lichuan Fish Farm at No. 45 Yuchi is a daytime matter.
None of these charge admission and none of them pour drinks. What Shoufeng offers was always something else.
The Night Road, in Bold
Highway 9 runs fast after dark, with streetlights spaced far apart.
On foot or scooter, stay to the edge and wear reflective gear. Not boilerplate — that’s what the valley road is actually like at night.
Zhixue Street goes quiet fast once the stalls fold. Head home early rather than walking the shoulder at eleven.
If you’ve been drinking, call a designated driver or a taxi. Rides reach the coast more slowly than the city, so book from inside the venue before you settle up. Hand the keys to whoever didn’t drink.
Last Word from the Ticket Window
Both venues are on the Shoufeng township page, as registered.
If you live in Shoufeng, ticket one on Zhongzheng Rd. is good any night of term. If you’re from elsewhere: honestly, this isn’t a stop worth getting off at for the nightlife — what’s worth it is Liyu Lake before dark, the big lawns on campus, and the twenty minutes of window on the way back to the city.
