Rende Bistros: This Paper Found Three, All in Rende — The Guiren Column Reads Zero

QUICK ANSWER Rende-Guiren lists twenty businesses, three of them bistros, all in Rende: 酒曇餐酒吧 J•T bar (預約制) at No. 82-1, Sec. 1 Er-ren Rd., a perfect score on 230-plus reviews; Loft 樂飛運動餐酒 at No. 440, Sec. 3 Wenhua Rd., 4.9 stars on 220-plus; The Render.fusion at No. 468 Zhongshan Rd., 4.8 on 90-plus. Guiren has no bistros, only 貝斯特卡拉OK at No. 61 Xinyi S. Rd. Most places close between 8.30 and 9.30, and Zhongxi is fifteen to twenty minutes away.
Warm-paper newspaper woodcut layout: three columns printing the door numbers and character of Rende's three bistros, a red circular stamp reading zero for Guiren, and a closing timetable along the bottom

This paper reread the Rende-Guiren listings. The finding: twenty registered businesses, three bistros.

All three in Rende. The Guiren column reads zero.

Not an omission. The honest edition on Rende and Guiren already reported that these two districts go to sleep at dusk; the bistro distribution just restates it in numbers.

The Three Doors, and Their Characters

酒曇餐酒吧 J•T bar (預約制), No. 82-1, Sec. 1 Er-ren Rd., a perfect score on 230-plus reviews, mobile 0925 005 581.

The parenthesis is the point. Appointment-only; arrive on impulse and you meet a closed door. In a district that falls quiet by nine, that’s rational — few seats, and the owner isn’t betting on walk-ins.

Loft 樂飛運動餐酒, No. 440, Sec. 3 Wenhua Rd., 4.9 stars on 220-plus, 06 270 8998. Sports-bar line, a room for watching a match with a drink.

The Render.fusion 福醺湯包 X 餐酒館, No. 468 Zhongshan Rd., 4.8 stars on 90-plus, 06 279 2278. A hybrid of soup dumplings and a wine list.

Three venues, three roads, three uses. None clears 300 reviews — that’s the scale here, not a verdict on the cooking.

No. 440, Sec. 3 Wenhua Rd.: The Road You Leave the Exhibition On

This paper rates this one worth noting, and the reason is geography.

The Chimei Museum is at No. 66, Sec. 2 Wenhua Rd. The Ten Drum Culture Village is at No. 326, Sec. 2. Loft is at No. 440, Sec. 3.

One road.

Leave the exhibition, walk into Sec. 3, and dinner is there — no loop back into the city and out again. It’s the only route in Rende that hands daytime footfall directly to an evening table, and Chimei’s daytime traffic is the heaviest single flow these two districts have. Exactly one bistro is positioned to catch it.

One correction for the record: the main museum building closes in the evening, the outdoor grounds and lake-side lighting run to around ten, and Ten Drum schedules occasional evening drum performances per its own announcements. On a performance night, that’s the only thing in these two districts that qualifies as a programme.

Guiren: Zero, but One Light

No bistros. No bars.

No. 61 Xinyi S. Rd. is 貝斯特卡拉OK .KTV, 4.3 stars on 150-plus reviews, 06 338 7699 — one of the few places in Guiren still busy after dark. A neighbourhood singing room, not a drinking venue.

The massage column, though, Guiren does have: 歸仁按摩 at No. 163 Minquan S. Rd., 4.9 stars on 70-plus; 早晨養生按摩-大廟店 at No. 17 Damiao 1st St., 4.9 on 70; 蕨起.歸仁高鐵館 健身房/長者 at No. 39 Guiren 9th Rd., a perfect score on 220-plus. On the Rende side, 2F, No. 16 Tuku 6th St. is 森活汗蒸-仁德店-仁德體態雕塑, 4.9 stars on 400, 06 205 3399 — a sweat-lodge warm-up before the drive home, the industrial-park worker’s way of closing an evening.

For a drink, it’s those three in Rende or a trip back to town. Full list on Rende and Guiren bars and bistros.

The Closing Timetable

This paper sets out the actual rhythm, for planning purposes:

  • Most places close between 8.30 and 9.30, chain fast food and convenience stores excepted
  • After nine the options collapse, and the Guiren old street quietens earlier still
  • Chimei’s outdoor lighting runs to around ten; the main building is closed in the evening
  • Local massage shops mostly close around ten, so a late massage means the city or Yongkang

Eat early. Sitting down at seven is far more comfortable than at eight, and that matters more here than in Zhongxi.

The Drive Back

Via the Rende interchange on National Freeway 1, Zhongxi is fifteen to twenty minutes; Guiren’s Shalun area is about twenty-five into town.

The TRA Shalun Line reaches the city in about twenty-five minutes, but the last train is early. For anyone staying near HSR Tainan Station — No. 100 Guiren Blvd. — the practical answer is a car straight through, booked for the return before you start drinking.

If there’s been alcohol, use a designated driver or a taxi. Suburban roads are empty and traffic moves fast, which is the standing rule this paper prints every edition.

For a second round, the Nanfang mall flow is in after hours at TS Mall, getting home is in Tainan night transport, and booking timing is in Tainan bistro bookings. The whole district sits on Rende and Guiren.

Three venues — enough? If what you want is a good meal and a drink, yes. If what you want is to keep going until dawn, this paper suggests you fetch the car now.

FAQ

Q-01How many bistros does Rende have?

Three listed, all in Rende District. 酒曇餐酒吧 J•T bar (預約制) at No. 82-1, Sec. 1 Er-ren Rd., a perfect score on 230-plus reviews, mobile 0925 005 581; Loft 樂飛運動餐酒 at No. 440, Sec. 3 Wenhua Rd., 4.9 stars on 220-plus, 06 270 8998; and The Render.fusion 福醺湯包 X 餐酒館 at No. 468 Zhongshan Rd., 4.8 on 90-plus, 06 279 2278. For Guiren, this paper found zero.

Q-02Which one needs a booking?

酒曇餐酒吧 prints appointment-only in its own shop name, so turning up on a whim means a closed door — call 0925 005 581 first. The other two carry no such label, but small rooms with a couple of hundred reviews don't have many seats; walk in after seven on a Friday or Saturday and a table isn't guaranteed. If you want to sit comfortably, phone ahead. Tainan-wide booking timing is covered in our bistro booking piece.

Q-03Can I eat near the Chimei Museum after visiting?

Yes, and on the same road. The Chimei Museum is at No. 66, Sec. 2 Wenhua Rd. and the Ten Drum Culture Village at No. 326, Sec. 2, while Loft 樂飛運動餐酒 is at No. 440, Sec. 3 — leave the exhibition, walk into Sec. 3, and that's dinner, with no detour back into the city. Note that the main museum building closes in the evening; the outdoor grounds and lake-side lighting run to around ten, and Ten Drum occasionally schedules evening drum performances, per its own announcements.

Q-04What's still lit in Guiren at night?

貝斯特卡拉OK .KTV at No. 61 Xinyi S. Rd., 4.3 stars on 150-plus reviews, 06 338 7699 — one of the few places in Guiren still busy after dark. In the massage column there's 歸仁按摩 at No. 163 Minquan S. Rd., 4.9 stars on 70-plus, and 早晨養生按摩-大廟店 at No. 17 Damiao 1st St., 4.9 on 70. Bistros and bars in Guiren read zero; for a drink, head to Rende or back into the city.

Q-05When should I leave, and how long back to the city?

Most places here close between 8.30 and 9.30, and after nine the options collapse. Zhongxi is fifteen to twenty minutes via the Rende interchange on National Freeway 1; Guiren's Shalun area is about twenty-five minutes into town. The TRA Shalun Line's last train is early, so anyone staying near HSR Tainan Station (No. 100 Guiren Blvd.) is better off calling a car straight through. If there's been alcohol, use a designated driver or a taxi — suburban roads are empty and traffic moves fast.
