Whoever searches “Wanshou Rd massage” should confirm one thing first: which section you are on.
Wanshou Rd is Provincial Highway 1A, entering Guishan from the Huilong end in New Taipei as Sec. 1, then Sec. 2, then crossing the district line into Taoyuan District as Sec. 3. This site’s registry lists three massage shops, all on Sec. 2 in Guishan. None on Sec. 1, none on Sec. 3. Searching along Sec. 3 finds nothing.
Numbers climbing.
No. 839: Jinyu Scalp Wellness SPA
It works the head: scalp, head therapy, upper shoulders. Not full-body acupressure, not oils. A studio with one or two masseurs, by reservation. They do not answer while working on a client; if it rings out, text a time slot rather than driving over.
For whom: headaches, tight scalps, eye strain from a day of screens. Not for: anyone wanting feet or a full-body unwind.
No. 1195: Shuqi Vietnamese Hair Wash SPA
Farther along. SPA, a perfect score and over 1,250 reviews, the thickest on this road, mobile 0908 628 787.
Vietnamese hair wash: lie down for shampoo, head massage, face wash and shoulders, sixty to ninety minutes a session, going rate NT$600 to 1,000, posted prices rule. Twelve hundred-plus reviews ranks in Guishan’s top five; book weekend afternoons a day ahead, weekday mornings often have same-day slots.
Editor’s note: Guishan has three Vietnamese hair wash shops on file and only one on this road; the other two are at Datong Rd 5 and Wenqing Rd 363, shelved in the Guishan wellness house piece.
No. 1315: Orthodox Massage Center, thirty years
Farther still. 4.7 stars, 360-plus reviews, landline 03 319 4777.
Thirty years in the name and old-school acupressure in the hands. Shoulders, back, stiff necks, heavy pressure. Storefront type, the phone gets answered during hours, same-day bookings work. It is the only one of the three that does not need advance notice.
For whom: a week of overtime and a neck that will not turn, parents’ generation, anyone who does not want to be wrapped in oil scent.
Same road, the food
After the massage, eat without leaving the road.
BAR, 4.5 stars, 65 reviews, phone 03 359 0877, two doors from No. 1315. 4.7 stars, 97 reviews, toward the Huilong end, a long name for skewers and draft beer.
Both serve alcohol. Drink and do not drive; Wanshou Rd is a trunk road with fast night traffic. Call a designated driver, leave the car.
Getting there, parking
Driving is most direct. The three addresses from 839 to 1315 sit on the same side and string together in a few minutes by car. Street spaces are tight from five to seven and loosen after.
Not near the Airport MRT. A7 and A8 sit on the Wenhua Rd corridor on the other side, not walkable. About fifteen minutes by taxi from Taoyuan Station, about ten from the Linkou Chang Gung area. Many bus routes run Wanshou Rd, per the stop signs.
What Sec. 3 people do
Living on Sec. 3 of Wanshou Rd in Taoyuan District and not wanting to drive into Guishan, go downtown instead. Sec. 2 of Sanmin Rd 272, 4.9 stars, over 2,040 reviews, both within ten minutes by car. District comparisons are in the Taoyuan massage overview; the three shop types across Guishan and Linkou are in Guishan and Linkou massage.
Wanshou Rd massage is three shops, three needs, take your seat.
