This square sits at No. 89 Shacheng Rd.
Chengnan Village. Not on the old-street side, and not at Wushi Harbour.
放鬆沙龍咖啡廳 LOUNGE HAIR COFFEE, registered under bars and bistros, a perfect score on 30 reviews. No phone number on file with us.
Three facts in one square: perfect score, thirty-review sample, no phone. Translated into trip-planning language, that’s a single instruction — ask before you go.
What Thirty Reviews Means
The score is real. The sample is thin.
A perfect score on thirty reviews may come from a small circle of regulars; a perfect score on three thousand has been walked over by enough people to count as tested. Toucheng lists nine businesses and four clear 300 reviews. This square isn’t one of the four.
Practical reading: treat it as a small place worth trying, not as your fallback. The fallback belongs in the squares with volume behind them.
The missing phone number matters more. Checking today’s hours or booking means online channels only — and coastal small businesses closing early or not opening at all in rain or the low season is entirely normal, a habit of the trade the Toucheng bar guide has written about before.
The Other Squares in the Same Week
Toucheng lists nine: six for drinking, three massage. Two roads cover the backups.
Sec. 3 Qingyun Rd. has two: No. 381 is 秀 やま 炭火串燒 / 海鮮 居酒屋, 4.8 stars on 780-plus reviews, mobile 0958 580 778 — the heaviest count in Toucheng; No. 143 is 島的對面 串燒&居酒屋-平價餐廳, 4.9 on 540-plus, 03 977 0062.
Sec. 2 Huanzhen E. Rd. has two: No. 357 is Tea tree bistro 無菜單料理, 4.9 stars on 310-plus, no phone on file here; No. 373 is Lucas Bistro酒龜88餐酒館-頭城居酒屋, 4.9 on 170-plus, mobile 0980 777 178.
No. 220 Jixiang Rd. is Kanea廚房-餐酒小館, 4.9 stars on 580-plus, mobile 0901 305 805.
Of the six, three have no landline and two have no registered phone at all. That’s the norm here — have the online channels ready before you leave.
What Time to Arrive
Seafood places mostly work until eight or nine, a little later at weekends.
After nine, the harbour empties fast.
So the Toucheng calendar reads early: six to nine is the main block. For anything later, move to Jiaoxi or Luodong, where the bath houses and foot-massage shops hold out longer; the Yilan bar map lists the county’s late survivors.
Wushi Harbour’s seafood peaks as the catch lands, which an evening at Wushi Harbour covers hour by hour. The Shacheng Rd. square is not on the harbour route, so planning both means budgeting a drive between them.
The Rainy Squares
Rain in Yilan isn’t a surprise. It’s part of the season.
Seaside and surf-shop bars often close early in the wet, and the Lanyang Museum only runs to dusk. A rainy night in Toucheng shrinks the options noticeably — and with no phone on file for this square, the online check becomes the whole plan.
The steadier wet-weather arrangement: main meal at a seafood house or one of the two indoor rooms on Sec. 3 Qingyun Rd., then straight on to Jiaoxi for a soak. That’s the smoothest substitute route in this area, not a compromise.
Three Massage Shops, For the Close
No. 22, Ln. 633 Xietian Rd. is 衝浪天堂按摩, a perfect score on 150-plus reviews, mobile 0972 095 050. No. 160, Sec. 3 Qingyun Rd. is 敬桑職人, a perfect score on 90-plus, 03 977 0711. No. 45 Xinzhong Rd. is 歇腳亭整復推拿, 4.9 stars on 40-plus, mobile 0953 099 118.
All three lean appointment-only, and nobody answers while a therapist has a client. If you want a massage after eating, book first and eat second, not the reverse. Door numbers on Toucheng massage and Toucheng and Wushi Harbour.
Is This Square Worth Planning?
Yes — on a day you’ve already confirmed it’s open.
The coast is thinly populated late at night with widely spaced streetlights, so drive or pre-book a taxi rather than hoping to flag one. If you’ve been drinking, use a designated driver; nights on this line don’t behave like city nights, and empty roads aren’t the same as safe ones. Full list on Toucheng bars and bistros.
