Toucheng massage takes up three lines on the calendar page.
Three listed shops, no fourth. No chain foot hall, nothing open into the small hours — the whole Toucheng massage list reads in one glance. With so few, which shop is not the hard question. Time is: what hour to phone, what hour to be on the table, and what hour to cut your losses and head for Jiaoxi. 10 am: phone first
Tear off today's page. The first job isn't leaving the house — it's booking.
All three are one- or two-therapist shops running 60–90 minute sessions, which works out to fewer than ten customers an evening. On July and August weekends the Wai'ao surfers look for a table the moment they're out of the water; phone in the afternoon and you'll get the last session before nine, or nothing. Weekdays and the winter months from November on are far looser — call in the morning and early evening usually works.

- 歇腳亭整復推拿 (Xiejiaoting Bodywork), 0953 099 118, Xinzhong Rd No. 45, Xinjian. 4.9, 44 reviews. This is structural bodywork — a tweaked back or a stiff neck belongs here; if you just want to drift off comfortably, don't book this one.
Say three things on the phone: how many people, how many minutes, and whether you're afraid of pain. There's no front desk to relay it — the person answering is usually the therapist.
4 pm to 6 pm: the easiest slot
The reasoning is practical.
The Lanyang Museum shuts by late afternoon, and Toucheng Old Street (Heping St) is done by four. Wushi Harbor's seafood houses mostly close at eight or nine, so seafood has to be dinner, not a late snack. Put the massage before dinner — down at five, up at six-thirty, then eat — and the hours mesh.
敬桑職人 sits right on Qingyun Rd Sec. 3. On the same road, 島的對面 串燒&居酒屋-平價餐廳 (skewers and izakaya) at No. 143 — 4.9, 548 reviews — is barely a dozen house numbers away, and 秀 やま 炭火串燒 / 海鮮 居酒屋（無外帶服務） (charcoal skewers and seafood izakaya) at No. 381 — 4.8, 789 reviews — is on the same section. No need to move the car after your session.
If you drink at the izakaya, don't drive. You won't flag a taxi on the coast road; book a designated driver or a cab ahead, not when the bill arrives.
9 pm: closed
Most of the three stop taking customers after nine; each shop's notice rules.
That isn't laziness, it's the town's rhythm. After nine the harbor quiets fast, streetlights run sparse, and the convenience stores are what's left lit. Arrive with the city plan of "late snack, then massage" and you'll find locked doors.
The day you can't get in, turn to the Jiaoxi page
Honestly, if it's a spur-of-the-moment idea, don't force it in Toucheng.
South on Provincial Highway 9, about twenty minutes by car to Jiaoxi; by local train it's two stops from Toucheng Station, ten minutes or so. Jiaoxi has 28 listed massage shops, more than nine times Toucheng's count. 千歲月足體養生工坊 礁溪德陽店-cash only at Deyang Rd No. 28 has 5,428 reviews, and the name already warns you it's cash only; 素問足體工坊 at Ren'ai Rd No. 64 has 3,120, with a second branch at Jiankang Rd No. 38; 湯圍溝按摩-礁溪足體按摩放鬆 經絡推拿 SPA 刮痧拔罐 (Tangweigou Massage) at Jiaoxi Rd Sec. 5 No. 59 holds five stars over 1,490. The big foot halls have plenty of therapists, walk-in waits usually work out, and they close later than Toucheng — actual hours per each shop's notice. The price you pay is atmosphere. Jiaoxi is a tourist hot-spring strip; on a Saturday night Deyang Rd is shoulder to shoulder, the foot halls are rows of recliners, and the next customer over is chatting. Toucheng's one-on-one small rooms are a different thing.

Prices, and who shouldn't come
Posted prices at the three Toucheng shops rule. As a going rate, 60 minutes of full-body work lands at NT$800–1,200, bodywork separate; a 40-minute foot massage at a Jiaoxi foot hall runs about NT$500–700, again subject to posted prices.
People who shouldn't plan a massage in Toucheng:
- Anyone without a booking who thinks of it at 8 pm.
- Night owls who want to go past eleven.
- Groups of three or four wanting the same time slot — small shops can't line up the tables; go straight to Jiaoxi.
- Winter day-trippers on the Capital Star intercity bus: check the return timetable first, and don't miss the last bus over one session.
