Twenty-four listings. Sixteen of them massage.
That ratio is the shape of a Longtan night: two-thirds of the registered venues exist to get you lying down, not standing up with a drink.
Start with the Denominator
Sixteen massage and spa, six drinking spots, two KTV.
The review spread is more interesting: the sixteen massage houses hold 1,700-plus between them, the six drinking spots 1,500-plus, and the two KTV rooms just 62 combined.
That averages 260 reviews per drinking spot against 108 per massage house. People here get massages more often than they drink — but the night they go home and write about it is usually the drinking one.
Six Places to Drink, Really Five
久典洋酒 at No. 371 Longhua Rd. — 4.8 stars, 91 reviews, 03 499 0611 — sells wine, whisky, sorghum spirit and holiday gift boxes. That’s liquor retail. You go there for bottles to take home, not for a seat.
The other five:
- 勝町 日式居酒屋, No. 572 Zhongxing Rd., 4.9 stars, 586 reviews, 03 479 5999 — the district’s thickest listing, and worth booking on a weekend.
- 大池Front 景觀 BISTRO&Cafe, No. 11, Ln. 115, Shanglin Sec., Zhongfeng Rd., 2F-H, 4.8 stars, 269 reviews, 03 499 3130 — front row on the lake.
- 大王麻辣居酒屋龍潭店, No. 65 Yulong Rd., 4.6 stars, 283 reviews, 03 480 0233.
- 等等Bar-有瀏海的咖啡廳, No. 367 Minzhi Rd., 4.8 stars, 311 reviews, 03 471 1186.
- 醺 pub, No. 14 Wufu St., 4.7 stars, 35 reviews, 0911 893 133.
Two izakaya, one lake-view bistro, one cafe-style bar, one pub. No club, no dance floor. Anyone looking to dance has to head downtown — all of Taoyuan does — and Longtan owes you nothing on that front.
Zhongxing Rd. Settles Three Things at Once
No. 572 is 勝町. No. 485-1 is 龍興養生館, 4.7 stars, 335 reviews, 03 499 0998. No. 294 is 滿足緣經絡養生館, 4.9 stars, 238 reviews, 0937 804 073.
One road holds the district’s thickest izakaya and its two thickest massage houses. Finish dinner and walk over: 270-odd door numbers apart, two or three minutes by car.
Longtan’s night doesn’t run on a commercial district. It runs on a few roads.
Zhongzheng, Kewang and Minsheng
Zhongzheng Rd. is the other massage spine: 佐登妮絲專業SPA_桃園龍潭店 at No. 187-3 (85 reviews), 御福康VIP養生會館 at No. 316, 2F (4.5 stars, 73 reviews), and 昴星複合式美學 at No. 99, 2F (4.9 stars, 49 reviews).
No. 428 Kewang Rd. holds two: 雲彩舒活足療 and 樂活紓壓, same door number, different floor labels. Navigate there and you’ll see two signboards — you haven’t come to the wrong place.
No. 150, Ln. 141 Minsheng Rd. is one building stacked two ways: 名人堂KTV downstairs (4.8 stars, 30 reviews), 名人堂景觀舒壓芳療SPA on the seventh floor (perfect score, 65 reviews). It’s the only address in Longtan that puts singing and massage together, and singing in Longtan and Guanyin covers the room counts and price bands in full.
The other KTV is 百分百視聽歌唱, 4.8 stars, 32 reviews, 03 409 7482. Its registered address stops at the postal code with no street number — call them, don’t trust the navigation.
The Lake Is Open, the Reservoir Isn’t
龍潭大池 is open space with free access at night. Seven to nine is the best window: bridge lights on the water, a loop of the lakeside trail in about half an hour, parking nearby, and easy enough for elders and children to finish.
Shihmen Reservoir has no lighting and no facilities after dark. That’s a daytime or pre-dusk trip; don’t go feeling your way around at night. Window on China is the same — strictly daylight.
The Longtan tourist night market only opens on select days, so check the week’s schedule. The Hakka kitchens on Zhongzheng and Beilong Rds. mostly close early; if you want flat noodles, braised pork or ginger-fried intestine, being seated before eight is more comfortable.
How One Evening Runs, and When to Leave
Six-thirty to eight, eat. Eight to nine, loop the lake. After nine, pick a side: a drink on Zhongxing Rd., or an hour on a table on Zhongxing Rd. It’s the smoothest line in Longtan, and both options are on the same street.
The reasons to leave are just as clear — a group over six that needs a big room, past eleven and still going, Friday or Saturday and you want voices around you. Take Provincial Highway 3B or the Longtan interchange on National Highway 3 and you’re near Zhongli SOGO in twenty-five minutes; for supper, Longgang rice noodles in Pingzhen is about twenty. Zhongli after dark divides the three commercial areas, and the lake at night walks through the lakeside stretch in detail.
Full lists sit on the Longtan bars and bistros and Longtan massage listings pages.
If you’ve been drinking, hand the keys to whoever didn’t, or call the designated driver before you leave the izakaya — cars aren’t as easy to flag down here at night as they are in Zhongli.
