Nine in the evening in Yangmei, and the shutters along Dacheng Rd are half down. This town’s night ends early — the stir-fry joints bank their fires, the snack shops kill the lights, and anyone wanting more is already on the freeway, fifteen minutes to Zhongli.
Who stays? The people who actually live here. Off the late shift, done minding the shop, riding back from Puxin.
No. 330 Jinshan St keeps a room lit for them. 夜之屋-客製化按摩 — the House of Night — wears its operating logic in its name. 120-plus reviews, a perfect score. Not a 4.9. Perfect.
The weight of “customised”
A small shop that puts “customised” in its own name has burned its escape route.
There is no menu-style “ninety minutes, full body, next”. They ask first: what’s tight today, how long did you sit, how did you sleep — then set the sequence and the pressure. A perfect score means 120-plus people all signed off, with no room for a single miss; this habit of refocusing on every visit is where the number comes from.
Bookings at 0909 650 024. The team is small and hours and rates follow the in-store notice; if you want an evening slot, fix it on the phone — don’t gamble on the door.
The other side of a perfect score
Isn’t a perfect score just a small sample?
A fair suspicion. 120-plus reviews would drown in Zhongli next to the thousand-review houses. But Yangmei is no place for farmed ratings — the customers here are neighbours, and a rating works like vouching for your own regular haunt. They also turn on you faster than tourists do. A small town’s perfect score is bought with return visits, nothing else.
Yangmei’s back-up list
On the same Jinshan St, at 1F of No. 137, sits 泰式桑拿 — 40-plus reviews, 4.7 — worth scheduling against if you want an orthodox Thai routine.
Widen the circle: 老宅中式按摩 at No. 193 Zhongxing Rd, around 200 reviews at 4.9, works the Chinese tui-na line; 康足複合式養生會館 at No. 472-1 Huandong Rd, 430-plus at 4.8, ranks near the top of Yangmei for sheer volume; 衛斯帕SPA楊梅館 at 1F, No. 168, Sec. 2, Ruixi Rd, 330-plus and likewise a perfect score, leans spa. Living on the Puxin side? B&B泰式按摩 at No. 101 Yongmei Rd, 150-plus at 4.7, is the far more on-the-way choice.
That is the whole density of massage in Yangmei. No ten-shops-a-street depth like Zhongli — but every one of them is set between homes and market streets, and the Yangmei massage list fits on a single page.
When to take the freeway
Small-hours walk-ins, a room for a whole table, thousand-review scale — Yangmei can’t give you that. Zhongli’s massage belt is fifteen minutes up Freeway 1, or a stop or two on the TRA, and the Pingzhen–Yangmei piece has already walked the cross-district route.
But if your night is Yangmei-shaped — off at nine, horizontal by ten, shop open again at six — then crossing districts is itself a cost. That is the point of No. 330 Jinshan St: it doesn’t ask you to take the freeway. It put itself on your way home.
The Yangmei district page holds what’s left of this town after dark. Not much — but enough for someone coming home at night.
