A correction first.
Readers have lately been searching 嘎嘎叫ktv. This desk went through the register: Tainan has nothing on file spelled with that character. What is on file is 嗄嗄叫KTV at No. 1598, Sec. 2 Yongda Rd., Yongkang District, Tainan — phone 0909 588 840, 4 stars, 42 reviews.
嘎 and 嗄. One character apart, similar in shape and close in sound, and map search won’t necessarily fix it for you. A blank result doesn’t mean the place closed. It means the character was wrong.
Front Page: No. 1598, Sec. 2 Yongda Rd.
嗄嗄叫KTV, registered under karaoke rooms, 4 stars, 42 reviews, 0909 588 840.
The listed number is a mobile, not a landline. Common for a small room, and practically useful: the owner is the person answering, so ask him when a room is free and whether they’re open tonight.
The Yongkang Xintiandi verification touched this door number and gave it a single line. This edition lays it out on its own page.
Page Two: 42 Reviews, in Context
Tainan lists 20 singing venues; take out the two hostess-service rooms and 18 remain for general customers.
The scale gap is dramatic:
- 賓士KTV中成店, No. 18 Zhongcheng Rd., West Central — 4.4 stars, 4,800-plus reviews
- 享溫馨KTV台南中華店, No. 22, Sec. 1 Zhonghua E. Rd., East — 4.4 stars, 4,600-plus reviews
- 賓士KTV南紡店, 8F, No. 358, Sec. 1 Zhonghua E. Rd., East — 4.3 stars, 2,300-plus reviews
- 錢櫃 臺南西門店, No. 99 Heyi Rd., West Central — 4.1 stars, 2,500-plus reviews
Four thousand, two thousand — and then the three- and two-digit counts out in Yongkang.
Yongkang’s four: 星天地ktv at No. 215 Zhongbei Rd., 4.9 stars and 840-plus; 聚星國際KTV at the rear left of No. 378 Zhongnan Rd., 4.7 stars and 330-plus; 零零柒餐酒館 at No. 2, Ln. 110, Zhonghua 2nd Rd., filed under karaoke, 4.4 stars and 140-plus; and 嗄嗄叫 at 42, last.
This desk’s position, stated plainly: thin is not bad. Forty-two reviews means a small sample, where one good or bad night moves the whole score a notch. Drawing a conclusion from that number is unsound in itself.
Page Three: What That Address Means
Sec. 2 Yongda Rd. sits on the eastern side of Yongkang.
Both TRA Yongkang and Daqiao stations are some distance away — this is not walkable from an exit. Scooter or car is the norm, and street parking runs far looser than downtown. Bus frequency is limited and thinner at night.
Roughly twenty minutes by car from West Central; from Rende or Guiren, Zhongzheng S. Rd. links up cleanly. The Yongkang and Guiren KTV edition mapped both approaches.
If you live on Yongkang’s east side, or you’re heading south after a shift at the science park, this door is convenient. For everyone else, the other three are.
Page Four: Who Should Go, Who Shouldn’t
Go if: four or five of you, decided on the spot, living nearby, wanting two hours and home. The upside of a small room is no queue, no wait, and an owner who remembers you.
Skip it if: ten-plus people, you need graded rooms, the newest song library, real audio specs, or a session that runs to three in the morning. None of that holds up at a 42-review room — go to Sec. 1 of Zhonghua E. Rd. or Zhongcheng Rd., where the chains run tiered rooms and a full service flow. Bringing out-of-town friends to sing in Tainan for the first time? Also go there.
We don’t quote prices on a venue’s behalf. The Tainan KTV guide and how the pricing works list the questions: is this slot room-minimum or per head, is the ten percent service charge separate, what’s the overtime rate. All per the posted notice.
Page Five: Warm-Up and the Ride Home
Yongkang’s standard warm-up is stir-fry.
Dishes mostly land between NT$120 and NT$200, beer starts at convenience-store pricing, and three to five people eating a full table with drinks usually stay under NT$400 a head. Yongkang stir-fry into karaoke covered how that line connects.
That style of eating makes it very easy to over-drink. Decide who’s staying dry before you leave.
Tainan has no metro and buses stop early. A late-night ride reaches this part of Yongkang more slowly than it reaches West Central, so book from inside the venue before you settle up. If you’ve been drinking, take a cab or a designated driver, and hand the keys to whoever didn’t.
December through February is year-end banquet season, when the chains get booked out by the floor and small rooms are suddenly the easy reservation — the one seasonal advantage a place like this has.
All four are on the Yongkang KTV listings, as registered.
The character is corrected. One thing left to decide: whether you dial that mobile tonight.
