Today this paper draws a map.
Tainan city has eighteen singing venues on the register that can be printed openly, spread across five districts; North District scores zero. The map answers one question only: whichever district you are standing in, how many minutes to the nearest microphone. West Central: six, the densest in the city
About ten minutes by taxi from TRA Tainan Station. Six venues, big and small.
Three big-room houses. 賓士KTV中成店 (Benz KTV Zhongcheng) at Zhongcheng Rd No. 18 — 4.4, 4,800-plus reviews, first in the city by review count; 賓士KTV府前店 (Benz KTV Fuqian) at Fuqian Rd Sec. 2 No. 276, 1,900-plus; 錢櫃 臺南西門店 (Cashbox Tainan Ximen) at Heyi Rd No. 99, 2,500-plus. Groups of ten or more line up for these three. Friday and Saturday after eight with no booking means waiting.
Three small ones. 樂遊遊休閒娛樂館KTV、麻將 at Jinhua Rd Sec. 3 No. 257 — 4.5, 250-plus reviews, mahjong tables beside the rooms. 大小顏練歌坊 卡拉ok at Chenggong Rd No. 429, 4.9 with 110-plus. 街頭巷尾卡拉OK at Zhengxing St No. 121 1F, 100-plus, tucked inside the Zhengxing Street shopping area. Two or three people should not prop up a big room’s minimum spend. Come here.

East District: one road, three venues
All on Zhonghua E. Rd Sec. 1.
No. 22, 享溫馨KTV台南中華店 (Warmth KTV Tainan Zhonghua) — 4.4, 4,600-plus reviews. No. 358 8F, 賓士KTV南紡店 (Benz KTV Nanfang), 2,300-plus; T.S. Mall is next door at No. 366, closes at ten, and part of the closing-time crowd walks straight over. No. 66, Cocobar電話亭KTV專家, 40-plus reviews — phone-booth rooms, the place to sing alone.
The road runs hot during NCKU term time and ebbs in the summer and winter breaks. Come in July or August and booking gets much easier. Bus 5 and the Red trunk line stop at T.S. Mall; the three are walkable from one another. Roster: East District KTV.
Anping: one chain, three whole-house stays
Anping’s map looks different from the others.
享溫馨KTV-台南安平店 (Warmth KTV Tainan Anping) at Qingping Rd No. 8 — 4.6, nearly 1,600 reviews — is the only place in Anping where you walk in and sing. The other three are guesthouses with karaoke gear: 飛行俱樂部民宿KTv歡唱 at Zhouping 2nd St No. 2-2, five stars and 900-plus reviews; 靚嶼民宿 KTV 電動麻將、烤肉 台南包棟民宿 at Shiping 5th St No. 120, 100-plus; and a few doors down at No. 110, 台南安平悠樂旅宿, 4.8 with 37 reviews.
Be clear about these three: they are lodging, not rooms by the hour. You book the whole house, stay the night and sing indoors — right for a family or class reunion of around ten. If you only want two hours of singing, do not phone them asking for an hourly rate. Room prices move with weekdays and holidays; each house’s own notice rules.
Anping is about fifteen minutes from downtown by taxi, and Bus 2 ends early. Staying over to sing actually removes the ride-home problem. The district’s night routes are on the Anping page.
Yongkang and Guiren: five on the east side
Four in Yongkang. 星天地ktv at Zhongzheng N. Rd No. 215 — 4.9, 840-plus reviews, Yongkang’s main stage; 聚星國際KTV, behind-left of Zhongzheng S. Rd No. 378, 4.7 with 330-plus; 嗄嗄叫KTV at Yongda Rd Sec. 2 No. 1598, 42 reviews; 零零柒餐酒館 at Lane 110 No. 2, Zhonghua 2nd Rd, 140-plus — eat first, sing after. TRA Yongkang Station reaches downtown in six to ten minutes. Downtown residents gain nothing by making the trip; Yongkang residents need not go into the city.
One in Guiren: 貝斯特卡拉OK .KTV at Xinyi S. Rd No. 61 — 4.3, 150-plus. On the high-speed-rail side of town, this is the only light on.

North District: zero
None.
Garden Night Market opens Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Eat, then take a ten-minute taxi south into West Central. Hunting for a room in North District wastes the evening.
The talk-you-out-of-it column
Friday or Saturday, nine at night, no booking, walking into a big room on Zhongcheng Rd or Zhonghua E. Rd — don’t. Waiting is the norm.
Two people in a chain big room — also don’t. Per-head plus minimum spend, with weekend nights commonly running NT$500–800 a head, makes no sense for a pair; practice rooms bill by the room and a few hundred settles it. Posted prices rule.
Staying in Guiren and wanting big-room standards: head north to Yongkang, about twenty minutes. Do not search where you are.
After closing time
Tainan has no metro. Buses end early, and TRA trains only hold until late evening. Once a drink has been opened, hand over the wheel: take a cab or call a designated driver, and save that number before you leave rather than looking it up at closing time. Anping and Guiren have few cars on the road after dark — taxis take a while, so call early.
