Datong Thai Massage: Only Four on the List, and Two of Them Share One Block

2026-10-08|Datong

QUICK ANSWER Datong lists four Thai shops only: Tai Jin Qi at No. 127, Sec. 3, Chongqing N. Rd. (4.9 stars, 560-plus reviews), Frangipani at No. 38 Minzu W. Rd., Hua Nan at No. 215-6, Sec. 2, Dihua St., and Shang Cheng at No. 239. NT$1,200–1,800 per 90 minutes, posted rates final. Can't get a table? Switch to foot work or a full-body room — Datong is far deeper in those. For a long Thai list, go to Zhongshan or Shilin.

Eight on a Wednesday night, and the shutters along Dihua Street come down one after another. The old town closes early, and finding a Thai table around here leaves you fewer choices than you’d guess.

Let’s be straight about it. We list thirty massage shops in Datong; four of them are Thai, and two of those share one block of Chongqing N. Rd. Nothing is being held back — this district’s massage trade simply didn’t grow Thai. It grew foot work and wellness rooms.

Sec. 3, Chongqing N. Rd.: One Street, Two Shops

Tai Jin Qi Thai Wellness at No. 127: 4.9 stars, 560-plus reviews, the only Thai shop in Datong past 500. Roughly ten minutes on foot from MRT Daqiaotou, full between seven and nine at night. Friday, call 02 2599 2707 and hold a table instead of standing at the door.

Up the same street at No. 239, Shang Cheng Thai Wellness: 4.1 stars, 34 reviews.

Few reviews doesn’t mean bad. It means nobody queues. Read the 4.1 alongside those 34 — the sample is small enough that one or two bad nights drag it down. If what you want is to lie down right now, this is the answer.

A little south at No. 37-1, Tai Jin Relax has 4.7 stars and 220-plus reviews, a close name registered as a wellness room rather than Thai. Call first if you want actual Thai stretching.

Minzu W. Rd. and Sec. 2, Dihua St.: One Each

Frangipani Thai Wellness at No. 38 Minzu W. Rd.: 4.5 stars, 240-plus reviews, second-thickest of the four. The stretch is a walk from both Yuanshan and Daqiaotou, so a car or scooter actually suits it better.

Hua Nan Thai House at No. 215-6, Sec. 2, Dihua St.: 4.5 stars, 85 reviews. The address sits on the north end of Dihua, well clear of the tourist run near Yongle Market. Quiet at night, and no queue at the door is the norm.

Figure NT$1,200–1,800 for 90 minutes and about NT$2,000 for 120, posted rates final. First Thai session, buy 60 minutes — dry stretching isn’t for everybody, and tapping out halfway doesn’t refund.

Past Thai, Datong’s Massage Has Another Shape

Four shops don’t fill a week. When they’re full, change the need — what Datong is genuinely deep in is this:

  • Foot work: Sec. 3 of Chengde Rd. is the densest run. Ueno Foot Health at No. 61 has 240 reviews at 4.6. Jinxi Foot Massage at No. 48 Jinxi St. carries 110-plus. Walk this one after Ningxia Night Market.
  • Full-body pressure: Taiyuan Wellness — Tianshui at No. 14 Tianshui Rd., 1,800-plus reviews at 4.8, the highest count in the district. Ji Chuan Wellness at No. 190-1F, Chang’an W. Rd., 1,100-plus at 4.9. Ben Chuan Wellness at No. 225-2F, Minsheng W. Rd., 650-plus, right by the MRT Shuanglian exits.
  • Oil spa: Taipei Massage SPA at No. 27, Sec. 1, Chengde Rd., 1,030-plus reviews. One building at No. 30 Nanjing W. Rd. holds two — résqueen Nanjing 30 SPA on 12F-2 with 490-plus, Deborah SPA Xinyue on 11F with 350-plus.
  • Sports massage: BODY CITY MASSAGE Beimen flagship at No. 35-1F Gangu St., perfect score, 280 reviews, five minutes from MRT Beimen. Shun En Sports Massage at No. 25, Ln. 79, Dalong St., 88 reviews, over on the Dalongdong side. Twisted ankle, back gone from lifting — go here, not to a Thai table.

For a Longer List, Cross One Street or Ride North

Datong’s Thai is these four. Inflating it into a big list would be a lie.

One street over Xinsheng N. Rd. is Zhongshan District. Tai He Dian Thai Massage at No. 88, Sec. 2, Minsheng E. Rd. carries 1,900-plus reviews, under ten minutes by cab from anywhere in Datong; Yue Lai Zhuang Thai at No. 516-2 Fuxing N. Rd. has 440-plus. The citywide three-tier read sits in the four past 2,000 reviews and the lane shops under 300.

The other direction is the Tamsui line. Shilin lists ten Thai shops, the densest of Taipei’s eight districts, broken down station by station in walking minutes from each stop. Shuanglian to Jiantan runs about ten minutes — faster than circling three Datong blocks.

Time Slots, and One Warning

Weekday afternoons, two to six: all four are empty.

After eight on Friday and Saturday, Tai Jin Qi has a wait. The other three may not fill up, but they’re thin on staff — four people walking in together almost never fits.

The arrangement to talk you out of: remembering you wanted a massage after drinking in Dadaocheng. Stretching and alcohol don’t mix, and your body overreacts. If you drank, get a designated driver or a cab home and come back tomorrow.

Street numbers and review counts live on Datong massage and spa. For how the rest of the district’s night connects afterward, Datong and Dihua Street after dark each hold a route.

FAQ

How many Thai massage shops does Datong actually have?

Four. Tai Jin Qi Thai Wellness at No. 127, Sec. 3, Chongqing N. Rd. — 4.9 stars, 560-plus reviews — is the only one past 500. The others are Frangipani Thai Wellness at No. 38 Minzu W. Rd. with 240-plus, Hua Nan Thai House at No. 215-6, Sec. 2, Dihua St. with 85, and Shang Cheng Thai Wellness at No. 239, Sec. 3, Chongqing N. Rd. with 34. Four is four. There is no hidden longer list.

What does 90 minutes of Thai cost in Datong?

Our shop database doesn't carry price lists, so only the going range: NT$1,200–1,800 for 90 minutes, around NT$2,000 for 120. Hot compress and oil add-ons are extra, and posted rates are always final. First time on a Thai table, book 60 minutes — dry stretching doesn't suit everyone.

All four are full. What else is there in Datong?

Change the need, not the district. Foot work lines Sec. 3 of Chengde Rd. — Ueno Foot Health at No. 61 has 240 reviews. For full-body pressure work, Taiyuan Wellness — Tianshui at No. 14 Tianshui Rd. carries 1,800-plus reviews, the highest count in Datong. For oil spa, one Nanjing W. Rd. building at No. 30 holds two separate houses.

Which MRT station is closest?

The two shops on Sec. 3 of Chongqing N. Rd. are about ten minutes on foot from MRT Daqiaotou. Hua Nan sits on the north stretch of Dihua Street, west from the same station. No. 38 Minzu W. Rd. is a walk from either Yuanshan or Daqiaotou, so driving is smoother. The Chengde Rd. cluster hugs MRT Zhongshan and Shuanglian. Check live navigation for the real walk.

Can I go after drinking in Dadaocheng?

Not the same night. Alcohol amplifies how your body responds and stretching is the worst fit for it. If you've been drinking, take a designated driver or a cab home and come back the next afternoon — weekday 2 to 6 p.m. is when all four are empty and the therapists are freshest.
