Bade Nightlife: This District Has Two Kinds of Evening — Night Market Days, and Everything Else

QUICK ANSWER:Bade lists 38 venues: 26 massage houses, 10 bars and bistros, two KTV. On night market days the crowd is entirely at Xingren Garden Night Market — check the week's trading days before you leave. Otherwise Guangfu Rd. takes over: No. 326 is 貝蛤蛤 seafood bistro at 4.8 stars and 4,000-plus reviews, the district's thickest; No. 299 is The Healer at a perfect score across 200-plus. Singing comes down to two rooms, at No. 869-1 Xinxing Rd. and No. 362 Guangfu Rd. For cocktails, the Yiwen arts district is about fifteen minutes away.

Bade’s night doesn’t divide by day of the week. It divides by whether the market is trading.

Xingren Garden Night Market doesn’t open every day. On the days it does, the district’s entire crowd is on that one site; on the days it doesn’t, the area around it goes as quiet as a housing estate and Guangfu Rd. takes over.

One district, two versions. Check the week’s trading days, then decide how the evening goes.

Thirty-eight listings: 26 massage houses, 10 bars and bistros, two KTV. The complete Xingren Garden Night Market guide handles the market itself; this page handles the district.

Version One: Market Day

Everyone is at the market. Don’t plan anything else.

It ranks among northern Taiwan’s largest, with more stalls than one evening covers. Crowds run heavy on trading days, and parking a scooter on the outskirts and walking in beats parking at the gate. Driving, the Highway 2 Bade interchange is the smoothest approach — though the surrounding roads clog at closing.

What follows the market? Massage, naturally. 足行家養生館 at No. 172 Guangfu Rd., 4.4 stars and 470-plus reviews (03 367 8818); 足輕亭 足體養生館 at No. 76 Fengde 2nd Rd., 4.9 stars and 420-plus (0970 551 939). After a night market your feet hurt, and those two exist for exactly that.

Want one drink before home? Guangfu Rd.

Version Two: No Market, Guangfu Rd. Takes Over

One road, five doors.

No. 326: 貝蛤蛤海鮮餐酒館-廣福店 — 4.8 stars, 4,000-plus reviews, 0936 766 323. The thickest count in the district across all categories, and nothing in Bade comes close.

No. 299: The Healer 餐酒館 (胖老爹隔壁) — perfect score, 200-plus reviews, 03 366 8904. The address field literally says “next to Popeyes”; navigating to the number still works better if you look for the neighbor’s sign.

No. 362 is 世外歌唱, 4 stars and 60-plus reviews, 0933 967 225. No. 172 is 足行家, and No. 967 is 沐妍養生館 at a perfect score across 60-plus.

One road with a seafood bistro, a small bistro, a karaoke room and two massage houses. That’s Bade’s most complete line on a non-market night, and the only street in the district that qualifies as a strip.

Jieshou Road: A Mall, Plus Two Skewer Joints

Guangfeng Plaza sits at No. 728, Sec. 1 Jieshou Rd. — mall plus cinema, the weekday evening center of gravity.

No. 658, Sec. 1 is 野斯複合式運動餐酒館, 4.8 stars and 100-plus (03 363 3367); No. 818 is 慕酌-八德人氣串燒, perfect score and 30-plus (03 366 7079). On 3F at No. 880 sits 一足松健康會館, perfect score and 150-plus (03 361 3500), and No. 942 has 馥妍流香氛舒活館(桃園八德館) SPA, perfect score and 100-plus (03 367 1177).

No. 742, Sec. 2 is 美好 越式洗髮 八德, 美好 越式按摩 , 八德越式洗髮按摩 — 4.9 stars, 1,400-plus reviews. The thickest massage entry in the district, and it’s on Jieshou Rd.

The mall closes around ten, after which this stretch is skewers and massage only.

Ten Places to Drink, and Not One Cocktail Bar

Worth stating plainly.

The ten bar-and-bistro entries run to grill-and-beer houses, izakayas and bistros: 揪烤杯燒烤啤酒屋 at No. 28 Heping Rd., 4.8 stars and 1,200-plus (03 375 7766); 星空啤酒屋 at No. 149 Rongxing S. Rd., 4.3 stars and 520-plus (0965 179 222); 船饕大漁居酒屋 at No. 61 Changxing 2nd Rd., 4.4 stars and 190-plus; 竹村居酒屋 串燒/燒烤 at No. 722-3 Xingfeng Rd., 4.9 stars and 30-plus.

No. 85 Fengtian Rd. registers as a late-night cafe and bar, perfect score across 80-plus — the closest thing to a cocktail route. There’s also an entry at No. 146 Dazhi Rd. filed under bars with 1,400-plus reviews, except the name says Skin Bar. That doesn’t look like a nighttime business; call and ask what it actually does before you go.

For a real drinks list, a bartender, and a seat that holds until two: Taoyuan’s Yiwen arts district, about fifteen minutes by car. How to pick a Yiwen bar covers that stretch.

Singing Comes Down to Two

八德平價KTV at No. 869-1 Xinxing Rd., 4.2 stars and 80-plus (03 368 8877), and 世外歌唱 at No. 362 Guangfu Rd., 4 stars and 60-plus.

Both small local rooms, both under a hundred reviews. The Bade budget KTV guide sorts them by three price points and lands on this: four or five people for two hours works fine. Ten-plus, or singing until dawn, means heading to the station area.

The 26 Massage Houses Are the District’s Real Depth

Ten bars, two KTV, 26 massage houses. The ratio talks: Bade’s night is about eating and browsing, not drinking.

Beyond the ones already named, 足旺泰式養生館 at No. 90 Dongyong 1st Rd., 4.2 stars and 310-plus (03 362 6688); 上采養生館 at No. 1162 Jianguo Rd., 4.5 stars and 270-plus (03 218 1971); 泫嵐spa時尚美學 at No. 61 Fengtian 6th Rd., perfect score and 230-plus (03 368 5275) all sit above average. The Bade massage survey sorts them across the Guangfeng and Xingren areas.

Two to five on a weekday afternoon is loosest; eight to ten on a market-day evening is when every shop in the district is fullest.

Getting Home

No MRT, limited bus frequency, with the Highway 2 Bade interchange and Provincial Highway 4 doing the work.

Driving is the default, so a designated driver is standard equipment. If you’ve been drinking, call a driver or a taxi and save the number before you leave; on market days, rides take longer at closing time, so book from inside the shop. Keys to whoever didn’t drink.

All 38 are on the Bade district page, as registered.

One question before you go out: is the market open tonight? The answer tells you which road to take.

FAQ

Where should the night start in Bade?

Check whether Xingren Garden Night Market is trading this week. If it is, go straight there — it's among northern Taiwan's largest and you won't finish it in one evening; park a scooter on the outskirts and walk in. If it isn't, head to Guangfu Rd.: 貝蛤蛤海鮮餐酒館-廣福店 at No. 326, 4.8 stars, 4,000-plus reviews, 0936 766 323, is the loudest signal in the district, and The Healer at No. 299 holds a perfect score across 200-plus, 03 366 8904.

How many KTV rooms does Bade have — enough?

Two listed. 八德平價KTV at No. 869-1 Xinxing Rd., 4.2 stars and 80-plus reviews, 03 368 8877; 世外歌唱 at No. 362 Guangfu Rd., 4 stars and 60-plus, 0933 967 225. Both are small local rooms with samples under a hundred reviews. For chain boxes, a full song library, or singing into the small hours, head to the Taoyuan Station area, about fifteen minutes by car.

Why does Bade have so many more massage houses than bars?

Twenty-six to ten. Bade is a residential and night-market district — its evening centers on eating and browsing, not drinking — and massage is a daily need, so density tracks population. The thickest in that category is the Vietnamese hair-wash house at No. 742, Sec. 2 Jieshou Rd., 4.9 stars and 1,400-plus reviews; 足行家養生館 at No. 172 Guangfu Rd. (4.4 stars, 470-plus) and 足輕亭 足體養生館 at No. 76 Fengde 2nd Rd. (4.9 stars, 420-plus) both sit above average.

Can I get a cocktail in Bade?

No dedicated cocktail bar is listed. The ten bar-and-bistro entries are mostly grill-and-beer houses, izakayas and bistros — 揪烤杯燒烤啤酒屋 at No. 28 Heping Rd. (4.8 stars, 1,200-plus) and 星空啤酒屋 at No. 149 Rongxing S. Rd. (4.3 stars, 520-plus) are the type. No. 85 Fengtian Rd. registers as a late-night cafe and bar with a perfect score across 80-plus, which is the closest thing. For a real drinks list, the Yiwen arts district is fifteen minutes away.

How do I get home after drinking in Bade?

Driving is the default here, which makes a designated driver standard equipment. There's no MRT and bus frequency is limited; the Highway 2 Bade interchange and Provincial Highway 4 are the main ways in and out. On market days the surrounding roads clog, and worst of all at closing time. If you've been drinking, call a designated driver or a taxi, save the number before you leave, and give the keys to whoever didn't.
