Zhonghe has one KTV on file.
Jingxin St 338, 好樂迪KTV, 4.2 stars, 1,899 reviews. No second private-room KTV. Open the Zhonghe KTV list and that is the whole line, so this piece does not compare shops. It does two things: how to use this one, and when to cross the bridge.
How to use this one
Location first. Jing’an Station is at Jingping Rd 486; exit, follow Jingping Rd, turn onto Jingxin St, about ten minutes. Nanshijiao Station is at Jieyun Rd 6, roughly the same. Circular Line Zhonghe Station (Sec. 2 of Zhongshan Rd 316) is farther, fifteen-odd minutes on foot.
Drivers park at Global Mall (Sec. 3 of Zhongshan Rd 122), NT$30 to 50 an hour, five minutes on foot. Street parking on Jingxin St is poor at night; do not circle.
Now timing. Eighteen hundred reviews holding at 4.2 means the deductions mostly come from one kind of night: Friday and Saturday from eight to midnight. Shuanghe has only this shop, so the whole area’s singing demand pours in, and the queues, slow food and room-time nudges all happen in those four hours.
Two ways around it. Go Sunday to Thursday after seven, when a room is usually free. Or arrive Saturday at two, sing till six, and pay the cheaper slot. Prices shift monthly; posted prices rule.
Four to eight people, Mandarin, food wanted: this one is enough.
Budget: chain rooms often run NT$200 to 300 a head on weekday afternoons, NT$500 to 800 a head with food after eight on Friday and Saturday. Ask for the total with service charge when booking; skip the question and pay for it. Phone 02 2949 3686; a weekend afternoon call usually still finds a room after ten.
When to cross the bridge
Three cases.
Ten or more wanting a big room. Wanting to pick a brand or a machine. Or you are already at Jing’an Station, where one stop away multiplies the options.
| Where | Address | Reviews | Drive | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 錢櫃KTV永和樂華店 | Sec. 1 of Yonghe Rd 129 | 3,800, 4.1 | about 10 min | ten or more, after Lehua Night Market |
| 錢櫃板橋店 | Guanqian West Rd 6, Banqiao | 5,300-plus, 4.1 | about 15 min | anyone on the Bannan Line |
| 凱悅YESKTV 板橋店 | Fuzhong Rd 126 B1, Banqiao | 3,300-plus, 4.9 | about 15 min | high score, new machines |
| 凱悅YESKTV 新莊店 | Sec. 2 of Zhonghua Rd 19, Xinzhuang | 20,000-plus, 4.9 | about 25 min | big birthdays, company parties |
Yonghe is closest, reachable by Circular Line or bus, ten minutes on foot after eating at Lehua Night Market. The two Banqiao shops need a ride to Fuzhong Station or a taxi. Xinzhuang is far, but 20,000-plus reviews at 4.9 exists nowhere else in New Taipei, and a big occasion justifies the trip. Banqiao choices are in the Banqiao KTV guide; the three-district comparison is in how to pick a KTV in New Taipei.
What to eat before singing
Holiday is about ten minutes on foot from Huaxin St. The Burmese Street eateries start closing around eight, so eat first, sing after, not the other way. The food side is in Huaxin Street Burmese night.
For a drink before the room, the izakayas cluster densest around Jing’an Station; the Zhonghe nightlife guide lists the coordinates.
After singing, Zhonghe has forty massage shops on file around Jing’an and Nanshijiao, most still taking customers before midnight; the Zhonghe massage index lists addresses by station. A one-KTV district is not short on massage.
Getting back
Last MRT around midnight. Taxis are easy late on Jingxin St, mostly under NT$200 into Taipei.
If a bottle was opened in the room, leave the car and call a designated driver. Zhonghe has one KTV and many roads home.
