Lower the expectations first
People searching for a Longtan KTV usually picture the Zhongli version: a twelve-seat room, a supper menu, someone still singing at two in the morning. Longtan does not have that. Open the Longtan KTV list and you hit the bottom of the page without scrolling.

That 4.8 is a handsome number, but thirty reviews is thirty reviews. On a small sample a rating says the people who went did not get burned; it does not say this house beats a chain. 錢櫃 中壢中央店 in Zhongli needed more than four thousand four hundred reviews to land at 4.1 stars. The two scores sit two orders of magnitude apart and converting one into the other will only make you overestimate. Compare room capacity, song-list updates, and whether the late slot holds instead. Longtan leads on none of them.
Who these two are for
Four to six people, two hours, a weekday afternoon or an arrival before seven in the evening.
- Locals who want one round after work and then bed: the drive is zero minutes, and that is the real advantage.
- Family dinners that need somewhere to walk the food off, with elders and children in tow and no appetite for a night drive to Zhongli.
- Budgets pegged to the NT$300 to 500 per hour band for a small room, often discounted on weekday afternoons, with the house notice as the final word.
- Anyone who wants the shoulders loosened afterwards: the seventh floor of that building is 名人堂景觀舒壓芳療SPA, five stars from 65 reviews, one lift ride up.
Who they are not for
Ten people, don’t.
Rooms are built around four to six. Force more in and half the party sings standing up while the song queue backs up. Singing until closing, ordering food mid-session, expecting the song system to carry this week’s releases: none of that is guaranteed by either house, and after eight on a Friday or Saturday even an empty room is not guaranteed.
If you live in Longtan and want two hours, solve it locally. If you want to sing until they switch the lights on, stop waiting for that here.
For the big rooms, drive out
Provincial Highway 3B or the Longtan interchange of National Freeway 3 puts you in Zhongli in about 25 minutes. Pingzhen is 20, but Pingzhen has no KTV on record, so do not treat it as a stopover.

The drive back is the real problem.
Twenty-five minutes on the freeway at midnight is nothing. What stalls is the person behind the wheel. Late bus services thin out and last departures follow the posted timetable, and in late October the northeast monsoon leaves that stretch of Highway 3B wet and dark, with visibility a notch worse than in summer. If you drank, leave the car in Zhongli, take a driver or a taxi home, and collect it the next day. That bill is cheaper than any version of drink-driving.
Longtan’s night was never carried by KTV
Honestly, casting KTV as the lead of a Longtan evening means reading the wrong map.
Dinner belongs to Zhongzheng Rd and Beilong Rd, where Hakka cooking runs cheap: flat noodles, braised pork, stir-fried intestine with ginger. Most kitchens close early, so sitting down before eight keeps it relaxed. After that, walk a lap of 龍潭大池, where the suspension bridge lights lie flat on the water and seven to nine is the best window; that walk gets more space in the lake at night. For a drink, 勝町 日式居酒屋 at No. 572, Zhongxing Rd carries 4.9 stars from 586 reviews, the most reviewed in Longtan; quieter options are 等等Bar-有瀏海的咖啡廳 at No. 367, Minzhi Rd with 311 reviews and 醺 pub at No. 14, Wufu St with 35, two different sizes and two different tempers. Drink and you hand over the keys. Old rule.
