Xitun is too big.
Forty-one massage shops on file, strung from the Taiwan Boulevard end up to Zhongke across six kilometres, and they serve three different crowds: students and overnight visitors in Fengjia, after-work and hotel guests in Qiqi, late-shift office workers up at Zhongke. So this one is sorted by road, not by shop type, starting at the Maple Garden Park intersection and working outward. Stretch one: Shizheng Rd to Shangshi Rd, eight shops
Park at 秋紅谷景觀生態公園 and walk west.
Shizheng Rd 581-5, 輕井沢足體會館, 4.3 stars and over 3,300 reviews; next door at No. 567, 金礦928頂級足體舒壓會館, over 2,100. Two houses side by side, both past two thousand reviews, both stuck at 4.3 — an honest set of numbers: high volume, easy to get in, no great technique. Shangshi Rd holds three more, with 白金青池足體按摩館 at No. 109 on 4.8 stars and over 690, 艾菲爾SPA生活館 at No. 148, and one more at No. 107.
This is the easiest stretch in Xitun to simply walk into, five to eight minutes on foot from 捷運市政府站.
Skip if: it is past nine on a Friday and you plan to push open the door on Shizheng Rd. Call first.
Stretch two: right into Qiqi, fifteen shops
The expensive one.
Dadun Rd 987, 泰晶殿皇家SPA莊園-大墩會館, 4.9 stars and over 5,800 reviews, the thickest massage listing in Xitun; 芭達雅泰式按摩大墩會館 sits at No. 963 on the same road. 紓心禪養生按摩大墩店 at Dadun 17th St 68, 2F carries over 1,800, and 太子悅養生會館 at Wenxin Rd Sec. 3 No. 69 over 1,600. 東森REGAL CLUB & SPA 台中麗格旗艦店 at Huizhong Rd Sec. 1 No. 98, 3F is the ceiling here; walk down to No. 102 and 森浴光mm941西屯區按摩撥筋養身館 has only sixty-odd reviews, an entirely different scale.
Four more sit on the outer ring along Chongqing Rd, Taiyuan Rd and Ningxia Rd, a little over five minutes by car from the Qiqi core and noticeably cheaper.
Expect hotel pricing on this stretch. The registry carries no prices, so only going rates: course-based SPA at NT$1,500 to 2,500 for ninety minutes, usually sold as packages, posted prices rule. Cocktails around here run NT$350 to 550 a glass, so if you drink before the massage, leave the car and call a designated driver — a massage does not sober anyone up.
Stretch three: north to Fengjia, ten shops
From 台中市政府 take Taiwan Blvd Sec. 3 onto Wenhua Rd, ten minutes.
Fuxing Rd 566, 健康家活力按摩館 (逢甲店), 4.9 stars and over 3,300 reviews, the largest in the Fengjia area. Duck into the lanes beside 逢甲大學: Fengjia Rd Lane 225 No. 16, 1F is 梵懿閣Fan Yi Ga relax指壓 with over 340 and no listed phone, and Lane 253 No. 37 is 香緹薇Spa香氛·美學館 with only forty-odd. 壓王運動按摩 at Xitun Rd Sec. 2, Lane 249-9, Alley 1, No. 17 holds a perfect score and over 1,500 reviews, working on pain rather than sleep.
A student district runs on different rules from Qiqi.
Between eight and eleven on weekend nights the whole of 逢甲商圈 is shoulder to shoulder, and the alley studios mostly take bookings only or list a mobile, so dropping in rarely lands. Weekday afternoons, take your pick. The ones inside residential buildings get no late-night knocking.
Stretch four: further up is Zhongke, eight shops
漾Young spa 中科會館 at Xitun Rd Sec. 3 No. 166-32 sits at 4.2 stars, the lowest on file in Xitun, so go in knowing that. 釉spa at Guoan 1st Rd Lane 210 No. 21 has a perfect score and over 220, and 薩拜泰式按摩 at No. 31. Fuke Rd 288 and Fuan 3rd St 20 hold 清邁象泰式養生館 福科店 and 清邁象泰式養生館 中工店.
Four of these eight are Thai, the highest ratio in Xitun. The customers finish late shifts in the science park, so evenings carry the load, but closing times vary a lot between shops — phone before you set off.
Four shop types, only two take walk-ins
- Foot massage, eight shops, no undressing or shower, NT$800 to 1,200 an hour.
- Massage and wellness houses, eleven, the messiest category, from big halls to one-room studios.
- SPA clubs, fifteen, the largest group in Xitun, course-based, set aside two hours, booking only.
- Thai, seven, ninety minutes at NT$1,200 to 1,800, heavy hands, not the morning after a big night.

The ride home
Late October brings the northeast monsoon, Taichung nights are a notch cooler than last month, so do not walk straight out into the wind.
The four stretches are five to ten minutes apart by car, plus another ten from Fengjia up to Zhongke. 捷運文心櫻花站 points at Wenxin Rd and Zhongke; in Fengjia late at night, ride-hailing is fastest.
