Xindian has 23 fewer shops than Sanchong. That number goes first.
Fifty-three on file: 35 massage houses, 18 izakayas and bistros, zero karaoke rooms. Sanchong, one river away, has 76 and four karaoke rooms. Which is why the Xindian KTV page is empty right now — to sing, ride the Songshan-Xindian line into Taipei, or transfer at Dapinglin onto the Circular line to Banqiao.
This one indexes by clock, not by map. Names copied from the Xindian shop pages.
6:30 to 8: Beixin Rd Sec 3
The after-work crowd lands almost entirely on this stretch.
No. 216, 六食酒串, over 900 reviews and 4.8 stars. No. 151, 後樂園町日式大眾居食屋, over 670 and 4.8. Lane 65 No. 5, H&W Restaurant and Bar, over 620. Walk toward Qizhang and Beixin Rd Sec 2 Lane 97 No. 3 adds 魚舞和食居酒屋, over 1,000.
Qizhang Station sits at Beixin Rd Sec 2 No. 150, Dapinglin at Beixin Rd Sec 3 No. 190 — about ten minutes apart on foot. Those ten minutes are the spine of the Xindian night.
The most-reviewed shop is not on Beixin Rd at all. 笑居樂食居酒屋小料理, Shun’an St No. 85, 1F, over 2,500 reviews and 4.4 stars. Small kitchens mean few seats, so call 02 2910 9958 ahead on Friday and Saturday.
8 to 10: the main room moves to Zhongxing Rd and Ankang Rd
Zhongxing Rd Sec 3 No. 179, 肉道場 繁盛居酒屋, over 1,200 and 4.4, big enough for a table of six or seven. No. 151 on the same stretch, 日鮨居酒屋, 110 reviews and fewer seats.
For beer without skewers, look at Ankang Rd Sec 2: No. 308, 八角Beer Bar, over 490; No. 1-2, 鳳居酒屋, over 370; Lane 85 No. 2, 暖燈yebisu 啤酒專賣, over 100. Guangming St No. 179-2 adds 大麥Beer Bar, over 350.
Xindian Station sits on Beiyi Rd Sec 1, and No. 7 there is 渣男Taiwan Bistro, over 830 and 4.7 — the southernmost bistro of the three stations.
NT$600 to 900 a head is the Dapinglin rate. Street food runs lower, a step below the city core.
Bitan: the price changes around nine
Swan boats stop around nine. The bridge light show is free. Dinner on the bank is not.
On the Bitan side, nothing is on file — scenic waterfront restaurants do not appear on the shop pages, so this piece can only speak at the category level. In practice that bank charges tourist prices, a different line from Dapinglin’s per-head rate; the same NT$600 to 900 buys a lower grade there.
To eat and drink properly, stay in Dapinglin. To look at the water, come over to Bitan. Try both on one budget in one night and both halves disappoint. The walk and dinner are laid out in a Bitan evening; route comparisons sit in New Taipei date night routes.
After 10: massage only
Thirty-five houses. That is where Xindian’s real night volume lives.
Beixin Rd Sec 3 No. 120, YU Lab Massage, a perfect score and over 470. No. 130, 1F, 薇朵漾Spa 北新店, 4.9 and over 420. At Dapinglin’s own address, No. 190, B1, sits 新北環狀線大坪林站視障按摩旗艦店, over 110 — you never reach street level.
Worth noting further from the MRT: 三方莊園 Aqua Spa Massage at Ershizhang Rd Lane 11 No. 1-1, a perfect score and over 690; Eunice SPA新店中興(直營館) at Baoqiao Rd Lane 78 No. 23, 1F, over 720; 初壹Massage spa at Zhongxing Rd Sec 1 No. 51, over 740; 明易足體按摩 新店創始館 at Guangming St No. 248, 300 reviews.
Appointment-only studios are everywhere in Xindian, and after ten a walk-in almost always strikes out. Call first. The full list is on the Xindian massage page, with cross-district comparison in the New Taipei massage and SPA guide.
Past midnight, and for drivers
After midnight Xindian has little beyond convenience stores. The Songshan-Xindian line’s last train is around midnight, Taipei Metro’s notice rules; taxis are still catchable on Beixin Rd, while the Zhongxing Rd and Ankang Rd side needs a phone call.
Bitan Scenic Area has large lots, but weekend evenings fill early. Dapinglin offers street bays and garages at NT$20 to 40 an hour, easier than Sanchong.
Beiyi Rd Sec 1 climbs into the hills on bends, with poor sightlines at night. If you drank, do not touch the wheel — a car or a designated driver costs far less than a citation. The after-work line is mapped in finer detail in Dapinglin to Qizhang.
