Taichung Station sits at No. 1, Sec. 1, Taiwan Blvd. Walk out toward the Green River and you reach Lyuchuan W. St. in under five minutes.
Finding the street isn’t the hard part. Knowing which floor to press is.
Nine Listings, Six You Can Plan Around
Central District registers nine KTV venues — more than any of Taichung’s eight districts. Beitun lists eight, Xitun eight, North six, West six, Fengyuan five, Nantun four, Dali four.
What makes that odd: Central District has only 43 listings in total, second-fewest in the city. Thinnest overall, densest for singing.
Three of the nine are registered as hostess-service venues. That format is outside this site’s scope, so no names and no addresses. The singing venues on a map will outnumber the ones you can plan around — worth getting straight up front.
Six remain. Five of them are above ground floor.
So this guide walks them by elevation.
8F and 11F: Two Doors on Lyuchuan W. St.
- 8F, Building B, No. 135 Lyuchuan W. St. — 台中美樂地KTV, 4.5 stars, 5,800-plus reviews, 04 2225 2929
- 11F-1, No. 133 Lyuchuan W. St. — 銀櫃ktv一廣店, 4.5 stars, 3,100-plus reviews, 04 2225 0917
The six venues carry 12,400-plus reviews between them, and these two buildings hold 9,000-plus of that. Strip out 零酒, whose count belongs to a bistro, and 9,000 of the remaining 9,300-plus sit at these two doors — 97 percent.
Put plainly: if you need room for ten or more, or a room that runs past midnight, Central District means these two buildings.
“Building B” and “11F-1” are not decorative. This block is a multi-building complex with separate elevator banks per tower, and pressing the wrong one adds ten minutes of walking. Meet people under the arcade on Lyuchuan W. St., not at “Yiguang”.
Sec. 2 Ziyou Rd.: Three Venues, No. 6 to No. 129
This street has layers. The door numbers run north and the three venues sit at three different heights.
No. 6 — 零酒NiteRoom, 4.9 stars, 3,000-plus reviews, 04 2222 1088. Listed on both the bar and the KTV rosters, but those 3,000-plus reviews were earned as a bistro. Treat it as a dinner stop and it holds up; treat it as a karaoke room and it won’t. Call first and ask whether singing is on that night.
9F, No. 72 — StarryKingdom星空王國音樂酒吧(KTV酒吧)), 4.7 stars, 80-plus reviews, 0932 657 146. The name puts the format in brackets: a music bar that also takes requests, not a room-rental house. Eighty-odd reviews is a small sample.
7F, No. 129 — 阿曼達卡拉OK, 4 stars, 160-plus reviews, 0983 995 950. Registered as karaoke, which is a different business from chain KTV: songs by turn, drinks and snacks on the table, mostly regulars. Bringing people you barely know, or older relatives? Wrong door.
No. 6 to No. 129 is about a ten-minute stroll, and 凅鄉 Lounge bar at No. 75 makes a decent warm-up on the way — single cocktails in Central District usually run NT$300 to NT$450, per the posted notice.
Why the Floor Number Comes First
Across the whole district only No. 6, Sec. 2, Ziyou Rd. is at street level. The other five are scattered across the 2nd, 7th, 8th, 9th and 11th floors.
Three practical consequences:
- Signage hangs high, so the entrance is invisible from the pavement and you need to spot the right elevator bank
- Older commercial towers lock the main door after dark or switch to a single entrance, and stepping out for supplies often means you can’t get back in
- Riding an elevator to the 7th floor alone feels different from pushing open a ground-floor door alone
The fix is simple. Decide on the spot, then call and ask three things: which floor, which elevator bank, what time the building locks. Three questions beat two laps of the block.
The two venues on Sec. 2 Ziyou Rd. list mobile numbers, which aren’t always answered midweek. No pickup? Try again during the day.
Where to Go After Singing
Station-front supper stalls are a five-minute walk back, closing times varying by stall — the Taichung supper map covers them.
For one more drink, the Jianguo Rd. and Liuchuan line is in the old-town bar walk; for what’s open when across the whole district, Central District read by the clock is arranged by time slot.
Singing until three or four in the morning, new rooms, easy parking — Central District can’t supply any of that. Beitun or Xitun is fifteen to twenty minutes by car, and the Taichung KTV price guide runs the chain-versus-self-service math through two scenarios. Student rates are covered in the North District and Yizhong guide.
All six are listed, as registered, on the Central District KTV page.
Getting Home
TRA Taichung Station is in this district and the Guancheng area has bus interchanges; last services per the posted timetables.
The alcohol total inside a karaoke room is usually higher than anyone’s own estimate. Those two Lyuchuan W. St. towers empty out five minutes’ walk from the station, which makes them the easiest KTV exit in Taichung. For the three on Sec. 2 Ziyou Rd., have your ride meet you at the main intersection — the old-town lanes go dim after midnight with sparse street lighting, and no driver should be hunting for you down one.
Drove in? Leave the car in the lot, take a designated driver or a taxi, collect it tomorrow. October nights have turned cool, and the walk from the Green River back to the station is the right length for it.
Central District singing: get the floor right first, then argue about the song list.
