Dali Massage and Spa: 22 of the District's 32 Listings Are Massage — This Night Is Spent Lying Down

QUICK ANSWER Of Dali's 32 listings, 22 are massage: seven foot work, seven wellness parlours, six spa houses, two Thai. The spine is Zhongxing Rd. (泰正點 at No. 13, Ln. 382, Sec. 1; 新金足 at 2F, No. 117, Sec. 2; 佐登妮絲 at No. 548; 足優 at No. 684) and Daming Rd. (脊霸分 at No. 356 with 2,000-plus reviews, 摩法天使 at No. 441). An hour of foot work runs about NT$800–1,200, posted rates final; for drinking or karaoke, Freeway 74 puts you in the city in ten to fifteen minutes.

Dali lists 32 venues.

Twenty-two massage shops. Six for drinking. Four KTV.

Close to seven-tenths is massage — the single biggest difference between Dali and central Taichung, and the answer to how this district’s night should be spent. Dali nightlife puts it bluntly: what works here is eating and lying down, not drinking.

Four routes below, each with door numbers.

Route One: Zhongxing Rd., Sec. 1 Through Sec. 2

One road covering four trades.

No. 13, Ln. 382, Sec. 1 is 泰正點 泰式養生館, 4.9 stars on 290-plus reviews, mobile 0958 305 382 — the thicker of Dali’s two Thai houses. Moving into Sec. 2: 2F, No. 117 is 新金足養生館, 4.7 on 580-plus, 04 2418 0117; No. 548 is 佐登妮絲專業SPA_大里中興店, 4.9 on 80-plus; No. 684 is 足優足體養生館, 4.7 on 80-plus, 04 2483 0015. Back in Sec. 1, No. 167-11 holds 足輕庭養生館 on 140-plus.

Thai, wellness parlour, chain spa, foot work — four approaches on one road.

This is the stretch where swapping a full shop for the next one actually works, with one caveat: the formats differ sharply. Thai means loose clothes and stretching, foot work means sitting while your soles are done, and the chain spa sells course packages. Changing door doesn’t mean changing into the same treatment.

Route Two: Daming Rd., Where Two Doors Take Three-Tenths of the District’s Reviews

No. 356 is 脊霸分傳統整復推拿-刮痧, a perfect score on 2,000-plus reviews, 04 2406 8100.

That’s Dali’s volume leader. Manual therapy plus gua sha, firm pressure, aimed at stiff necks, lower backs and old injuries.

No. 441 on the same road is 摩法天使(大里店 )運動按摩, a perfect score on 530-plus, mobile 0916 491 613, handling sports massage and fascia release. Between them the two doors hold 2,600-plus reviews — roughly three-tenths of everything the district’s 22 shops have accumulated.

Both lean appointment-only. On the mobile-number one, nobody picks up mid-session; a message with your preferred slot is the fastest route in.

Route Three: Yongxing and Defang, the Lane Studios

No. 397 Yonglong Rd. is 逸蓮居 經絡養生, 4.9 stars on 740-plus reviews, 04 2406 6630 — the largest of this cluster.

The rest are thin. No. 151 Yongxing Rd. is 足跡養生館, 4.9 on 130-plus; No. 3, Ln. 334 Yongxing Rd. is 逸足養生館 on 50-plus; No. 437 Defang S. Rd. is 青山足體按摩, 4.6 on 850-plus, 04 2482 2575; 1F, No. 27, Sec. 2 Defang Rd. is 享宸足體養生會館, a perfect score on 70-plus; No. 60 Lizhong 5th St. is 天香足體按摩工作室, 4.9 on 70-plus; No. 112, Sec. 1 Dongrong Rd. is M-謐境足體按摩芳療館, a perfect score on 70-plus.

青山 is the exception — 850-plus reviews, a proper storefront, and usually a table free if you walk in. The others, perfect scores on seventy reviews, mean one or two tables: thin samples, and not set up for walk-ins.

No. 186, Sec. 2 Guoguang Rd. is 三沐足體養生館, 4.2 stars on 440-plus, 04 2487 5335, close enough to Dali Sports Park to catch on the way back from a night run. A 4.2 on 440-plus isn’t pretty, but it has tables and no wait.

Route Four: Six Spa Houses, Scattered

No. 716 Shuangwen Rd. is 安媚SPA, a perfect score on 180-plus, 04 2406 6123; No. 523 Chenggong Rd. is VIVISPA大里成功店, a perfect score on 90-plus; No. 299-1 Xirong Rd. is 欣悅spa, 4.9 on 80-plus; No. 77 Dali Rd. is 庚園生活美學仕女spa, a perfect score on 80; No. 42-1, Ln. 439 Shuwang Rd. is 伊琳SPA-台中按摩, 4.9 on 30-plus.

None of these six works the foot-massage line. They run mostly to facial work, course packages and a female clientele, at NT$1,500-plus per head. If what you want is feet and shoulders, routes one through three are the right ones. All door numbers are on Dali massage listings.

Rates and Timing

An hour of foot work runs about NT$800–1,200, ninety minutes of Thai NT$1,200–1,800, spa houses NT$1,500-plus per head. We don’t carry price lists; posted rates are final.

Two to six on a weekday is the loosest window in the district.

Picking Up the City Half

Most Dali massage shops won’t take new walk-ins late at night. The bars hold out longer. So lie down first, drink second, not the other way round.

Freeway 74 puts you in the city in ten to fifteen minutes with Xitun and West District both in range; West District massage and the Taichung massage and spa overview pick up the second half, while the eating-and-drinking run toward Taiping is in Dali and Taiping at night.

If you’ve been drinking, leave the car and call a driver. Freeway 74 is empty and fast after dark — not the road to gamble on.

Q&A

FAQ

Q1How many massage shops does Dali have, and of what kind?

Twenty-two listed: seven foot work, seven wellness parlours, six spa houses, two Thai. The figure reads better against the district total — of Dali's 32 listings, only six are for drinking and four are KTV, so massage alone is close to seven-tenths. Anyone coming for cocktails or a dance floor will be disappointed here. What Dali is good at is the category you lie down for.

Q2Which Dali massage shop carries the most reviews?

脊霸分傳統整復推拿-刮痧 at No. 356 Daming Rd., a perfect score on 2,000-plus reviews, 04 2406 8100, working in the manual-therapy and gua sha line. Second is 逸蓮居 經絡養生 at No. 397 Yonglong Rd., 4.9 stars on 740-plus; third is 新金足養生館 at 2F, No. 117, Sec. 2 Zhongxing Rd., 4.7 on 580-plus. The same Daming Rd. also holds 摩法天使(大里店 )運動按摩 at No. 441, a perfect score on 530-plus, listed under a mobile, 0916 491 613.

Q3Where is Thai massage in Dali?

Two shops. 泰正點 泰式養生館 at No. 13, Ln. 382, Sec. 1 Zhongxing Rd., 4.9 stars on 290-plus reviews, mobile 0958 305 382; and 116泰式按摩 at No. 116 Dali 2nd St., 4.8 on 80-plus, mobile 0968 958 358. Both sit inside lanes with few rooms, and same-day weekend slots are often gone. Ninety minutes of Thai runs about NT$1,200–1,800, with each shop's posted rates final.

Q4When are tables free, and which shops must be booked?

Two to six on a weekday afternoon is the loosest window across the district. The mobile-number shops — 泰正點, 116泰式, 摩法天使, 天香足體按摩工作室, 享宸足體養生會館 and 伊琳SPA — are one- or two-therapist studios, and nobody answers while a therapist has a client on the table, so book before you leave and send a message if it rings out. The storefront operations, 青山足體按摩 and 三沐足體養生館, are more flexible.

Q5How do I pick up the second half of the night in the city?

Drive Freeway 74 — ten to fifteen minutes to any central district, with both Xitun and West District in range; trunk buses also run to Taichung Station. The practical order is massage in Dali first, then a drink in the city, not the reverse: most massage shops here won't take new walk-ins late, while the bars hold out longer. If you've been drinking, call a car or a designated driver. Freeway 74 runs fast and empty at night — don't gamble on that one.
