A Fengyuan KTV guide, laid out honestly, is almost a guide to one road.
Five listings. Four on Xiangyang Rd., three of those crowded onto the same door number. The fifth is on Fengshe Rd. with ten-dollar-a-song karaoke on the sign.
Fengyuan after dark explains that this district’s center of gravity is Miaodong. Singing isn’t at Miaodong — it’s on Xiangyang Rd. Get that straight and the route builds itself.
Stop One: No. 8, Lane 170, Xiangyang Rd.
超級巨星自助式KTV 豐原向陽店 — 4.7 stars, 3,000-plus reviews, 04 2525 0022.
The loudest signal in Fengyuan, and self-service. You pick the songs, fetch the food and settle the bill; the labor saved lands in the price. Students and regulars built that review count, and a Friday or Saturday after eight needs a call first.
Self-service isn’t worse. It’s a different division of labor. Anyone who wants to be waited on will find it cold; anyone who wants a long cheap night will find it fair.
Stop Two: No. 77 Xiangyang Rd., Three in One Building
Under two minutes’ walk.
Three registrations at one address:
- Floors 1-3, V-MIX向陽店(好樂迪集團) — 4.9 stars, 940-plus reviews, 04 2528 8653
- NEW SPARK 向陽店 (好樂迪) — perfect score, 190-plus reviews, 04 2512 0202
- 好樂迪豐原店 — 4 stars, 70-plus reviews, 04 2528 8653
V-MIX and Holiday Fengyuan share a phone number. All three sit inside the Holiday group — this is a split by brand and floor, not three unrelated shops.
Name the brand when you book. “Holiday, please” doesn’t tell the counter which floor you want.
The gap in scale is worth stating too: 940-plus reviews against 70-plus. A tenfold difference in review depth inside one building reflects which brand is actually taking bookings, not which floor is worse.
Stop Three: No. 309 Fengshe Rd.
愛你來10元歡唱小吃店 — 4.5 stars, 40-plus reviews, 0928 526 348.
Local karaoke format: ten dollars a song, snacks on the table, turns shared with the regulars. Excellent value if you live around the corner.
Who should skip it, stated plainly: anyone bringing unfamiliar guests, anyone bringing older relatives, anyone who needs soundproofed rooms or this year’s song list. This place is in the neighbor business.
How Long from Miaodong
The Miaodong Fuxing area sits on Ln. 167 Zhongzheng Rd., with Cizhi Temple at No. 179 Zhongzheng Rd.
Miaodong to Xiangyang Rd. is not a walk — five to ten minutes by scooter or car. Eat your way through Miaodong between seven and nine, move at nine, and the timing lines up: that’s when the market crowd disperses and the rooms start filling.
Reversing it doesn’t really work. Most Miaodong stalls fold around eleven, and the popular ones sell out earlier.
Four Questions Before You Book
- Is this slot charged by room minimum or per head?
- Is the ten percent service charge billed separately?
- What’s the overtime rate?
- For our group size, which room should we take?
Six people or more in a mid-size room usually drops the per-head cost a tier. December through February is the year-end banquet season, when booking a whole floor is standard — call in November. All rates per the posted notice; we don’t quote prices on their behalf.
About That Last Train
TRA mountain line from Fengyuan Station into Taichung takes roughly half an hour, with the last train before late night, per TRA notices.
Sing past midnight and want to get back to the city? Check first. Miss it and you’re calling a car at a fare above in-city rates. The Taichung KTV guide and how the pricing works cover hours and rates across the three central districts. A room that runs to three or four in the morning doesn’t exist in Fengyuan. It does downtown.
If you’ve been drinking, call a designated driver or a taxi. Late-night taxis along Xiangyang Rd. aren’t hailable the way they are downtown — save the number before you go.
All five are on the Fengyuan KTV listings page, as registered.
One road, three kinds of need. Decide whether tonight is about being served or about saving money, then dial.
