Dali has three registered places to sing.
Not three of the same thing to choose between — three different things: a chain room, a self-service hall, and a snack shop filed under the KTV category. Pick wrong and the problem isn’t the bill, it’s a table of people with nothing to do.
This one runs as a route. Start near 大里運動公園, head northwest to Daming Rd, double back to Zhongxing Rd, then turn into Renhua Rd. When the route runs out, take Highway 74.
Stop One — Daming Rd 509: The Heaviest Review Count Isn’t the Chain
故鄉庭園自助式KTV大里店, Daming Rd 509, 4 stars on 2,576 reviews, 04 2407 5777. That figure leads the district outright, more than double the chain’s 1,136 a few minutes away. Self-service means you queue the songs and fetch the drinks and food yourself; the saved labour comes back off the rate, roughly NT$100 to NT$200 per head under the chain, varying by time slot and weekday or weekend, per the posted notice.
So why does self-service win here?
Because the core trade is local families and office groups, not visitors. People who sing four or five times a year pick on what each head pays with a full room, not on how the service looks.
It doesn’t run late. If you want to be singing at three or four in the morning, this isn’t the answer.
Stop Two — Sec. 2 of Zhongxing Rd 446-5: The Chain Sells “No Thinking”
好樂迪KTV大里店, Sec. 2 of Zhongxing Rd 446-5, 4 stars on 1,136 reviews, 04 2482 5858. Six minutes by car from Daming Rd 509, 1.7 kilometres in a straight line — don’t walk it.
A flat four is neither low nor high; it’s the standing grade for a chain KTV, where the process, the song library updates and the soundproofing all sit on one line. With older relatives, with clients, with a group who barely know each other, predictability is the product. Room slots and holiday surcharges are posted at the counter; rates per the posted notice.
When to take this one:
- Someone wants enka and someone wants Mayday, and the library has to hold two generations
- There are non-drinkers at the table who need real food, not a snack cabinet
- You’ll want a ride the moment it ends, and Sec. 2 of Zhongxing Rd is a main road where cars are easier to flag than down a lane
- You can’t be bothered
That last one is often the deciding factor.
Stop Three — Renhua Rd 517: This Isn’t a KTV At All
阿真小吃, Renhua Rd 517, 4 stars on 52 reviews, 0939 908 796. Filed under the KTV category; in practice a snack shop with a karaoke rig. The spending logic is different end to end — you’re not buying a room by the hour, you’re eating and drinking and queuing a song. The next table sings after you, and you may never reach a third song. This is a regulars’ room, under a ten-minute drive from 臺中軟體園區.
Bringing people you barely know, no. Wanting soundproofing and a mic that doesn’t clip, no. Running a full three-hour setlist, definitely not.
Read those 52 reviews on a snack-shop scale, not a KTV scale.
If you’ve been drinking, leave the car on Renhua Rd and call a designated driver or a ride. Highway 74 moves fast after dark with closely spaced ramps — not a road to gamble on.
Three Kinds of Night These Three Can’t Carry
Ten or more people, singing straight through — the room sizes and the closing times don’t reach it.
A Japanese or Korean song library — empty here.
A bar or a club for the second half — six bars and bistros on the register and not one with a cocktail counter, a tally worked through in the Dali nightlife guide.
So go downtown. Up the Dali interchange onto Highway 74: ten to fifteen minutes to West District, fifteen to twenty to Central District, with trunk buses to Taichung Station as well, last services per the posted timetable. 凱悅 YES KTV 台中店 at Sec. 2 of Dadao Rd 16, 4.7 stars on 7,200-plus reviews, 04 2203 9966, is the largest chain room in that belt; for Japanese repertoire, Suzuran 日文KTV at 3F, Sec. 1 of Meicun Rd 300, 4.7 stars on 320-plus reviews. Central District adds 台中美樂地KTV at Lyuchuan W. St 135, 5,800-plus reviews at 4.5 stars.
For how the bill is built, the Taichung KTV price guide takes the time slots and minimum spends apart; for the citywide spread, see the Taichung KTV guide.
One Dali Evening That Actually Runs
Late October, the northeast monsoon is down and Dali is mostly wide open road with the wind coming straight at you. Keep every leg inside a five-minute drive.
- 6:30pm, dinner around 內新市場
- 8:00pm, start singing at Daming Rd 509 and fetch all the drinks in one trip
- 10:30pm, out
- 11:00pm, back to Sec. 2 of Zhongxing Rd for foot work — 22 massage houses on the register in this district, roster in the Dali massage guide
The point of this line isn’t saving money. It’s not losing forty minutes of an evening to “where should we go”. Few options has its upside: the decision is cheap.
Doors and phone numbers for all three sit on Dali KTV, and the rest of the district is on the Dali guide. Next time someone asks the group chat where you can sing in Dali, just paste the address.
